Educators, preventionists, and community advocates in Grundy, Kendall, and Will counties are invited to use the ESN Prevention Library located in the Grundy-Kendall Regional Office of Education (ROE), 1320 Union St., Morris. The library is open during the ROE hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Books, videos (VHS and DVD), and other items can be checked out for a two-week free loan period. Materials are available in the following subject areas: Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs, Violence, Guidance, Mental and Social Health, Media Literacy, and Parenting With the exception of parenting materials, most items are aimed at middle to high school age youth.

FREE PUBLICATIONS

Education Service Network maintains a changing variety of pamphlets, booklets, posters, and other materials designed to assist individuals, schools, and communities in preventing substance abuse. Contact Anita at (815) 941-3441 for more information.

Teens, Partying, and the Law: A Handbook for Parents is a publication of the ESN. This 16-page glossy publication is designed to help parents understand the laws and consequences around underage drinking and other forms of substance abuse among adolescents. Printed copies of this publication are sometimes available. The booklet can also be downloaded in PDF format by clicking on the cover graphic to the left.
