............Joliet Teen REACH

What Is Teen REACH?
Housing Authority of Joliet Teen REACH program and Education Service Network have joined forces to offer youth ages 11-17 after-school activities to assist them in school and out of school. We are striving to create hope for teenagers and their families for a better future.

The five goals of Teen REACH are:

  • Improve participants' academic performance through various academic activities.
  • Provide opportunities for learning positive social skills through supervised recreation and other program activities.
  • Provide opportunities for demonstrating positive social behaviors through peer mentoring.
  • Adopt positive decision-making skills that discourage harmful risk-taking behavior, such as improving youth's educational and career aspirations.
  • Strengthen parent-child bonds and community involvement.

The five Core Services Teen REACH offers are:

  • Academic Assistance
  • Positive Adult and Youth Mentors
  • Recreation, Sport, and Cultural and Artistic Activities
  • Life Skills Education
  • Opportunities for Parental Involvement

Teen Reach is a statewide program funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services.
